ootd: first week of school

so sorry for how long it's been, everyone! i started summer band in august and then my pneumonia came back again last week so i've been busy and sick and stretched thin in all directions. new school year means new outfits and a new molly that's going to try harder this year (maybe my blog will hold me accountable)

first day! navy peter pan collar top: target (i cut the sleeves off!), orange skirt: h&m

my (not so) little sophomore grace anne is the cutest thing ever. also, the texture of this skirt is killer. i probably stared at it for 40% of the day.

 photo shoot with my mama and she grabbed all of these candid, silly, ridiculous, completely molly shots. glad she's now inducted into the blog's hall of photographers! (that's not real, i made that up)

came home today to a bouquet of orange sunflowers from my dad and stepmom! they sent a card with it hoping that i had a good first day at school (they're in miami for the next few months.) not only is orange my favorite color but sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. i'm super obsessed with this picture, too. so cool to come home after a frustrating day to something so beautiful. also i started senior year yesterday. that feels so weird to say. i honestly remember the first day of freshman year, how am i already a senior?

hello from Molly on vacation! I'm sorry I've been so bad about posting during the summer, I've been soaking up all of the rays and extra time in my days and I love love love it. I'm constantly posting on my twitter and instagram (both @mollysandlin) so you can keep up with me there if you desire!

I'm being good about this post as I purchased these products only a few hours ago so I'm trying! I picked up the freeman feeling beautiful facial clay mask with avocado and oatmeal and the neutrogena oil-free acne wash redness soothing cream cleanser. I'm honestly one of those "I'll try anything once" kind of girls when it comes to skincare, hair, and beauty products and ran out of cleanser and figured I'd pick up a new mask at the same time!

happy father's day

just as i am blessed with two mothers, i am also blessed with two fathers. i spent the day celebrating how fun and great they are and it really was a great day. i don't think i thank them enough for all of the great things that they do for me because there are not words for what great men they are!

 we went to this brunch place that's only open on mother's day/father's day/easter as tradition and opened presents and talked about some of our favorite memories with my daddy. below: me and my sibs w/my dad

my letter to my daddy: "What a guy. I'm continually blessed by your love, wisdom, and encouragement. You've taught me that it's okay to be silly and cheesy jokes should be told in plenty. Five years ago we thought cancer would get the best of you and now we're looking at a multi-organ surgery to possibly get rid of it for good. I'm so thankful for the strong, godly man that you are and I'm so thankful that I can call you dad. I love you, Pops."

 and we celebrated at the new dave and buster's. we played so many games and their prizes were lame so we cashed our tickets in for candy and then went and got ice cream.
