the past few weeks according to instagram

getting tacos with my big brother

dinner with two of my favorite girls

getting very excited about the new arrested development eps

celebrating memorial day with my diy american flag shorts

taking advantage of the first day it felt warm enough to go swimming!

making the most out of our last physics project

finding a new taco spot with my sissy

celebrating my friend's birthday by sharing my hair with her

starbucks and chick-fil-a during finals week

the best meal for someone who loves cheese and tomatoes

eating oranges the only way we know how...

...and stopping at my favorite snow cone spot for a dreamsicle snow cone!
it's my favorite color (a bright orange) and tastes exactly how i'd imagine summer would.

i'm so so excited for summer. i love being able to wear tank tops and shorts everyday without a teacher telling me to change because i'm against dress code. i'm setting a few goals for this summer because i'm going to be here nearly the whole summer and i want to make sure i'm productive. these goals are: being social and actually asking people to hang out instead of sitting around waiting for them to offer, running at least 4 times a week, visiting the colleges i'm interested in applying to, and being consistent with my blog by continuing to be creative or continuing to search for inspiration when i'm extremely uninspired.

what are you doing this summer? are you setting any goals to stay productive?
or are you going out of town to any fun spots?

first impression: lancome teint miracle foundation

I finally squeezed my last squeeze of my laura mercier tinted moisturizer this weekend so when my mom went to lancome for a new eye cream, we asked about a new foundation for me. I told the lady working at the counter that I was looking for a foundation that didn't have light coverage but didn't have heavy coverage either. basically, I want it to look natural but not too natural, you know? well she came back with the teint miracle foundation and swatched it on my wrist area and it looked just like my skin tone but better. the coverage was great and I liked it but my mom told the lady how I have trouble committing to these sorts of things so she sent us home with a little sample along with the one we purchased so that I can tell for sure if I like it or not! (she was the nicest)

so here's my first impression of it. I hadn't worn it before today or before I took these pictures so this is all 100% genuine!

ootd: band banquet

the other night i went to my school's band banquet...

me and my little sophomore erin

dress: anthropologie, belt: anthropologie, shoes: dsw, bow earrings: kate spade

my best friend, hannah

the cutest little thing ever aka grace anne aka one of the people i love the most in the whole world

and here's another cute little flutey, alexa.

it was a fun night to celebrate all of the memories we made over this past year and i'm so thankful for all of the people i've met and gotten closer to through band. you're all rather lovely and adorable and hilarious and i don't know where i'd be without my band friends.

i picked this dress out when i was sick with pneumonia because i knew i had some events coming up at the end of may that i needed to have dresses for and it fit so perfectly! i'm seen most often wearing red/orange/corals because i think they compliment my skin tone and hair color well so when people saw me they told me they liked my dress because "it's your color!" i curled my hair like normal [holding the curling iron upside down, taking little chunks of hair and wrapping them around it away from my face] and i think i was wearing the mac all that glitters/mac mystery combo that i've been wearing a lot.

what's your "color"? what kind of dresses do you flock towards? what looks do you like for spring?

ootd: floral high-low

top: old from nordstrom, high-low skirt: whole foods, shoes: dsw, necklace: brighton

i also wore this this weekend to a choir performance/senior celebration and then i went to my best friend's orchestra concert wearing this. i think it's a simple look for spring and i was so comfortable in it. it was so hot here that wearing any sleeves or pants sounded like the worst thing i could imagine so it was a nice outfit to have! if you're hesitant about high-low skirts, give them a try! they can be paired with nearly anything.

what's your opinion on florals? (i love them) would you wear a high-low skirt?
